PAPUA NEW GUINEA
EXPEDITION
AN UNMOTORISED CROSSING
One of the main difficulties of PNG Expedition, was the variability of terrain. Going from jungle, to mountain, back to jungle posed a significant logistical problem. Richard Johnson and Patrick Hutton had to carry mountain and jungle kit for the entire exped. To avoid having to take heavy tents, Rab has offered the team lightweight alpine bivi bags and a lightweight tarp. This way an effective shelter could be made with minimal fuss, and weight, in the mountains. It goes without saying that these were essential tools to keep the team healthy, and provide a good nights sleep in cold + exposed areas.
