PAPUA NEW GUINEA
EXPEDITION
AN UNMOTORISED CROSSING
ALPACKA RAFT
Deep, fast flowing rivers cutting throught the jungle was one of the expedition's major hazards. Along with personal experience, advice from previous expedition parties was essential in determining a 'best practise' method for river crossings. Lightweight and portable for jungle terrain, a pack raft was chosen as the most flexible and reliable method for the expedition.
Alpacka provided the team with a loan 'unrigged explorer', a 2.6 kg raft which will be used to shuttle Patrick, Richard and kit across rapid, crocodile riddled waters.
