As part of the Patrick's expedition to navigate the length of the Amazon, a crucial part of it was to build a boat capable of withstanding the vast tidal body of water, tropical storms and the incessant onslaught of disease carrying insects. Patrick and his team mates made a catamaran by fixing together two canoes, decking it over, erecting some hammock posts and roofing it over.
